Contact us today to get in touch with your local authorized dealer.

Can a Hide-A-Hose system be installed in an existing home?

The Hide-A-Hose system can be installed in most homes when there is access to an attic or crawl space. Your local authorized dealer can visit your home to review installation options.

Can you retrofit an existing central vacuum system?

Sometimes. The Hide-A-Hose retractable hose system stores the hose in the PVC tubing using special sweep 90's and 45's. Available attic or crawl space can be used to add these pipe runs, which could then be connected to your existing system. Your local authorized dealer would also evaluate your power unit and tools for use with the Hide-A-Hose system.

How noisy is a central vacuum system?

Hide-A-Hose Retractable Systems are quiet. The central vacuum power unit is installed in the garage or mechanical room of your home to keep the noise away from your living space.

Are central vacuums easy to use?

Hide-A-Hose vacuum systems are equipped with a patented locking system, so your hose is always the perfect length for what you need.

How does a central vacuum compare to a portable vacuum?

Hide-A-Hose systems are up to 5 times more powerful than portable vacuums. Central vacuum hoses are stored in the tubing in your wall, so your vacuum is easily accessible to whenever and wherever you need it, without having to carry a vacuum around your house.

How many inlets should I install based on square footage?

Each inlet contains a hose that can cover between 1800 - 2300 square feet.

How long does installation take?

Once you purchase a Hide-A-Hose the timeline for installation depends on whether you are placing it into a pre existing home or a new construction home. When installing a retro fitted hose installation only takes one day. However with new construction homes the installation time frame will vary depending on the construction progress.

How does Hide-A-Hose compare to Chameleon?

The biggest difference between Hide-A-Hose and Chameleon is the way you lock and seal the hose. With our patented locking mechanism you can lock and seal the hose at any length, which allows you to vacuum with full suction without pulling the hose all the way out. In order to lock and seal the Chameleon, you must pull the hose all the way out. A plastic clip can be used to keep the Chameleon hose from retracting, but there is still limited suction.
